Jonelda Sparks Hutson, 88, passed away May 25, 2024, at her home.
She was born July 21, 1935, in the Yankeetown community, of Sparta/White County.
Jonelda graduated from White County High School, in 1953. She was employed by Sparta Electric System for 40 years and was the “boss” of Hutson’s Catering. Jonelda volunteered delivering meals for Sparta Senior Citizens and participated in several community groups: Sparta Jr. Woman’s Club, Sparta Jaycettes, and Baker and East Sparta PTO. She and Bobby were founding members of West Sparta church of Christ, where they have been active member over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. Sparks and Laurine Young Sparks, and her sisters, Willie Mae Sparkman and Thelma Jean Sparks.
She is lovingly survived by her husband of 70 years, Bobby Hutson; daughter, Marsha Dixon (Tim), of Clearwater, Florida; two sons, Bill Hutson, of Sparta, Rodney Hutson (Tara), of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren, Wendy Cox, Ashlee Anderson, Matt Greene, Will Hutson, Max Hutson, Alexis Hutson-Hamric; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Oliver; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was 2 p.m., May 28, 2024, at West Sparta church of Christ, with burial in New Blue Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Kirkman, Justin Anderson, Russ Hale, Donnie Oliver, Ryan Sparkman, Gary Sparkman, Johnnie Sparkman, Matt Greene, and Will Hutson.
Memorials may be made to West Sparta church of Christ (Stepping Stones Program or Short Mountain Bible Camp in memo line).
