Joni Kay Wallace, 69, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 3, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Joni was born Feb. 2, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, and she was the daughter of Horace Loftis Choate and Carol Delone Johnson.
Joni was someone that everyone loved. She loved her job with the United States Census Bureau where she spent 20 years and enjoyed being a home health caregiver, and that brought her pride. She loved anything funny and especially loved to laugh and make others laugh.
In addition to her parents, Joni was preceded in death by her husband, John Wallace; two sons, Nathan Chandler, Johnny Wallace; and her brother, Steve Choate.
Joni is survived by her daughter, Holli Chandler-Anderson and her wife, Patty; two grandchildren, Olivia and Colton Phillips; and her brother, Roger Choate.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Oct. 7, 2025, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Bear Vinson officiated.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
