Jordan Arthur Young, 23, of Sparta, passed away April 8, 2022, one day shy of his 24th birthday, at Wyndridge Health and Rehab, in Crossville.
Jordan was born April 9, 1998, in Sparta.
Prior to a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed six years ago, he loved to go swimming at the lake and ride go-carts and dirt bikes.
He made the most of his life in a wheelchair, often pulling residents of Wyndridge around with his motorized wheelchair and making the CNAs dodge out of his way. He loved worshiping and learning the Bible with the ministry provided by Eddie and Lina.
Jordan is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Lee "F.L." Young, who died Jan. 12, 2018.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Joe Young; biological mother, Mary Rose Cantrell; biological grandmother, Mary Alice Young; siblings, Patricia Simmons and husband Ricky, Tammy Young and Garry Knowles, Freda McBride and husband Kelly, Jasper Young and Shay, Lee Ann Cantrell, Derrick Young and Kayla, Ivy Young and husband Kerry, Pam Robbins and husband Joe, Connie Young and Jeff Phifer, Mike Young, Larry Young; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., April 11, 2022, at Hensley Chapel Baptist Church, with burial in Young Cemetery. Marty Carr and Dewey Young will officiate.
Kelly McBride, Garry Knowles, Jade Smith, Jasper Young, Logan Lough, Ryan Slaven, Devon Kelsey, and Derrick Young will serve as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
