Joseph Wesley White, 68, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away June 8, 2025, at his residence in Springfield, after losing a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born June 22, 1956, in Urbana, a son of Richard Earl White and Judith Jean Powell White.
Joe, as he went by, graduated from Urbana High School in the Class of 1974. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served from 1974-1977 as a Computer Support Technician.
He enjoyed spending time with family and also with his dog, Baxter.
Joe is survived by his loving soulmate, Edith Sharon Sapp White, of Springfield, formerly of Sparta; his brother, Philip Eugene (Donna) White, of Oakland; his sister, Lorri May (Brent) Pickens, of Black Creek, Wisconsin. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
Celebration of Life ceremony for Joe will be held at the Bon Air Community Church, in Sparta, on Nov. 8, 2025, Friends will be received beginning at 1 p.m., with interment and graveside services beginning at 2:30 p.m., at the church cemetery, with full military funeral honors.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
