On June 6, 2024, National June Dairy Month chairman Hunter Rigsby met with White County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson to accept a proclamation declaring June as National Dairy Month, in White County.

June Dairy Month is a national celebration in the United States to celebrate both farmers and the dairy industry. The movement began in 1937, originally called National Milk Month but became more well-known, in 1939, when the National Dairy Council took over the celebration.

June Dairy Month allows Tennesseans to celebrate their culture, as milk is Tennessee’s official state beverage and recognizes those farmers who work on the 170 different dairy farms across the state.

The proclamation stated, “Whereas, dairy farmers have contributed to the development and well-being of our community since the earliest formation of White County, Tennessee” and “I, Denny W. Robinson, Executive of White County, do hereby proclaim the month of June 2024 is designated to the celebration of National Dairy Month in White County, Tennessee.”
