Leslie Richard Springer, 81, of Sparta, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 14, 2026, at his home in Sparta.
He was born on Thursday, October 12, 1944, in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Herbert and Catherine Springer.
Leslie moved to Sparta in 1970 and started working at Mallory Controls. He also helped the company open its plant in Juarez, Mexico in 1992.
He loved building and flying remote control planes, carving Santas, and doing wood inlays. He loved working with his hands.
He graduated from high school in El Paso, Texas, attended College at UTEP in El Paso for electrical engineering, and was in the Army at Fort Bliss in El Paso.
In addition to his parents, Leslie is preceded in death by his sister: Loretta; and brother: Bill.
His surviving family members include his wife: June (Johnson) Springer of Sparta, TN; daughters: Wendy and Heather Springer of Sparta, TN; sister: Elaine (Bob) Stankewicz; sister-in-law: Lucy (Bill) Springer; and many nieces and nephews.
In honor of his wishes, Oak Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with his cremation. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
He will be buried at Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville area.
