Martha Ann Simmons Sullivan, 70, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 3, 3, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Sparta, to Herbert Eston Simmons Sr. and Virgie Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Anthony Phillips; and siblings, Hershell Simmons, Jesse Simmons, Virgil Simmons, Herbert Eston Simmons II, and Betty Stittums.
She was very fond of her dogs, along with chocolate and tending to her array of plants and gardening, but she cherished her family, which includes her three daughters, Jeannette Champion, Jennifer Lack, Jenny Mae (Danny) Bentley; grandchildren, Mark (Krissta) Phillips, Tina Ware, Marissa Hill, Dylan Moore and Tyler (Krista) Champion, Crystal Wilson, Jason Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Austin (Tessa) Howard, Cassie Randolph, Conner Bentley; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Vernell Nash, Norma Kay Highsmith, Shirley Zile, Rhonda (James) Barnes, and Malcolm Simmons.
Her grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Feb. 7, 2021, on her 71st birthday, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Tracy Curtis will officiate. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Feb. 6, at the funeral home.
