Mary Catherine Good Witmer, of the Hickory Valley community, in Sparta, passed to her eternal reward May 7, 2023, age 95 years, 11 months, and 24 days. Her husband, J. Elmer Witmer, preceded her in death on June 28, 2006, after 57 years of matrimony.
Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Myrtle Anne and her husband, Chester Allen Petre; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She is survived by 10 children, Martha and David Rohrer, of East Berlin, Pennsylvania, Mary and Donald Yoder, of Miramar, Costa Rica,
John and Joy Witmer, of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, Elmer and Ellen Witmer, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Margaret and Wayne Diller, of Altamont, Tennessee, Lillian and Ivan Petre, of Cross Hill, South Carolina, Daniel and Carol Witmer, of Hadley, Pennsylvania, David and Mary Witmer, of Cochranton, Pennsylvania, Christina and Jacob Weaver, of East Concord, New York, Naomi and Kevin Moyer, of Sparta, Tennessee; 73 grandchildren; one foster granddaughter, 189 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her passing closes the era of the Benjamin and Martha Hoover Good siblings.
She was known for her caring, praying, and godly life’s example. She prayed for her entire family and church family by name regularly.
While she will be missed by all who called her Grandma, she was rejoicing to go HOME.
