Mary Crowder England, 90, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 11, 2021.

Mrs. England was born July 17, 1930. She was one of seven children born to John Vasco Crowder and Mallie Howard Crowder.

Since Mary was 13 years old, she cared for people with illnesses. She worked for many years at the White County Hospital and spent 30 years as a doctor's assistant for Dr. Robert F. Baker Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thurman R. England to whom she was married 37 years; and all of her siblings, Genevra Carter, Henry Crowder, Louise Tadsen, Bernell Clayton, Howard Crowder, and John Crowder.

She is survived by two sons, John William (Renee) England, of Sparta, Jerome Crowder (Linda) England, of Jasper; four grandchildren, Kayla (Clint) Peterman, of Cookeville, Emily (Caleb) Barnes, of McMinnville, Mallory England, of Nashville, Evan England of Jasper; three great-grandchildren, Channing Peterman, Camille Peterman, Lucy Barnes; one sister-in-law, Lou Crowder, of Crossville; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Feb. 14, 2021, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Jeff Guth and Ken Wallace will officiate. The family will welcome friends noon-2 p.m., Feb. 14, at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to White County Public Library, Robinson Chapel Presbyterian Church, or Sparta First Methodist Church Children's Christmas Fund.

Due to COVID-19, masks are required at all times at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
