Mildred Faye Davis, 80, of Sparta, passed away Aug. 20, 2023, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1942, in the Derossett community, of White County.
Mildred lived in White County, Tennessee. She retired from the. Buckboard to later go and serve as a foster grandparent for BonDeCroft Head Start and BonDeCroft Elementary. She was a member of BonDeCroft Baptist Church.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Hallie Davis, and brothers, Charles, Sammie, Darwin, and Jimmy.
She is survived by her daughters, Anna (Darryl) Erney, Amy (David) Pippin; brothers, Eddie Cotton Davis, Russian (Freida) Davis, Carl Davis; sisters-in-law, Betty Davis, Joyce Davis; grandchildren, Nichole Stewart, Josh Erney, Amanda Henry, Zach Pippin, Matthew Erney, Neikka Starkey, Mykka Erney, Morgan Pippin; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Linda Kaye Owens and Sarah Fuqua Bennett.
Pallbearers were Brandon Starkey, Matthew Erney, Joshua Erney, Grayson Henry, Connor Williams, and Nicholas Paris.
Honorary pallbearers were Steven Henry and Tobby Culley.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Aug. 23, 2023, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. Bro. Jason Lewis officiated.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
