Mildred Ruth Stamps, 80, of Murfreesboro, passed away peacefully and suddenly, on Nov. 19, 2025. She was greeted in the early morning hours by her Lord and Savior after ongoing medical and heart issues.

Mildred was born Feb. 22, 1945, in Sparta, to Willard and Rosie Stamps.

She graduated from White County High School, in 1964, and went on to succeed in many certifications in welding at Chromalox of Murfreesboro, Masonry at Tennessee Technology of Murfreesboro, and Nursing Assistant and Respiratory Therapist certifications from the Veterans Administration of Murfreesboro.

She went on to retire as a Respiratory Therapist from the V.A. and was known for her passion and care of her patients and those around her. Outside of work, Mildred was an avid crafter and collector, with a deep devotion to her faith and family. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, reading, puzzles and visiting and playing games with her sisters often.

She had a great passion for the Lord and will be remembered for her genuine love for others, her kindness, sense of humor, generosity and endearing personality.

Mildred was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Lee Stamps; her father, Willard Ray Stamps; mother, Rosie Foster Stamps; and sister Nella Raye Daniels.

She is survived by her siblings Mary Ellen, Barbara Luzada, Betty Jean, James Willard and Rosell Prater; her son, Timmy Ross Stoglin and daughters Peggy Lynn Stoglin (Trevis Stout), Laura Shawn Hughes and husband Larry. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

From the words of Mildred herself….

“My greatest inspiration in life was my Bible as a personal roadmap.”

“I want my family to remember me for my laughter and humor (even when some may have been off color?? Or at the wrong time.”  (Her humor).

“Keep going even in the bad times - you can’t quit.”

“For my love of God even though I followed him more in my later years, I am sorry for that.”

“One thing I’ve learned that I want to pass on to my loved ones is to let the Bible be their roadmap to follow.”

Her family loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.

Graveside service was 1 p.m., Nov. 24, 2025, at Old Zion Cemetery. Bro. Rudy Oaks officiated.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
