Minute with the Mayor

Posted

I want to take a moment to express my deep appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding teamwork and dedication displayed during the recent incident on Bockman Way on Friday evening. When a tree fell and blocked our main road through town, our community rose to the challenge, and I couldn’t be more proud.

First and foremost, I would like to thank the crews who quickly jumped into action to clear the way. The City and County Police, the Tennessee

Highway Patrol, the Sparta Electric Department, and our Fire Department all worked together seamlessly to ensure that the road was cleared safely and swiftly. Your dedication and tireless efforts helped minimize disruption and keep our community moving forward. You truly exemplify the best of what our town stands for: resilience, teamwork, and care for one another.

I also want to give a special shout-out to my wife, Tracey, for stepping in and helping remove branches from the road. It’s gestures like these that remind me how our community thrives when we work hand in hand, not just as professionals but also as neighbors looking out for each other. Thank you all, for being there and setting an example of what it means to support one another during times of need.

Events like this remind us of the importance of community. The quick, efficient response we saw wasn’t just the result of training—it was the product of the dedication and love that the people of Sparta have for our town. To all the men and women involved in clearing Bockman Way and to everyone who offered a helping hand, thank you for going above and beyond.

Together, we keep our community strong.

Be safe and finish strong.
