Noah Glenn Ward, known by friends as Glenn, 75, of Sparta, passed away June 14, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Ward was born July 20, 1945, in Doyle, to Noah Lee Ward and Augusta Mai Jordan Ward.

He was a United States Army Veteran where he served as a cook. He retired from Forest Nursery after 23 years of service and then went on to work 13 years at Cumberland Lumber. Mr. Ward was an avid fisherman and rabbit hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Ronnie and Donnie Ward; grandson, Jerry Lee “Spud” Hensley Jr.; brothers, Theron, Wilmer, Charles, Clifford, John Thomas, and Bobby Lee Ward; and sister, Eunice Simmons.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sandra Ward, of Sparta; two daughters, Sonya Myers, of McMinnville, Roxanne (Jerry) Hensley, of Sparta; grandchildren, Holly Cherry and Tyler Lowe, Scytha (Brandon) Loader, Jacob Hubbard and Joanna Johnson, Glenn Hensley; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., June 16, 2021, at Hunter Funeral Home. Danny Rogers will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Veterans’ Honor Guard will follow in Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 a.m.-1 p.m., June 16, at the funeral home.

Jacob Hubbard, Glenn Hensley, Tyler Lowe, Benjamin Rangel,    Jesus Rangel, and Eddie Rogers will serve as pallbearers.
