Norma Faye Holman, 82, of Sparta, passed away June 3, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Holman was born April 26, 1939, in Sparta, to Ridley and Fannie Stone.

She devoted her life to her family and her business, Sparta Grill. Her parents opened “The Grill,” in 1954. Mrs. Holman took over The Grill when her parents retired. She and her husband, Ray Holman, owned and operated Sparta Grill, Holman’s Taxi, and Stone’s Recreation for over 50 years. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work and her love for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holman was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Holman; infant brother, Frank Roscoe Stone; nephew,  Mike Hyder; brother, Gordon Stone; and sister, Elene Hyden.

Survivors include her daughters, Sarah Beth Thompson, of Sparta, Debbie Lynn Peek (Bryan), of Sparta; grandchildren, Tabitha Williamson, Brandon Rogers (Jessica), Tierra Brown, Trent Peek; great-grandchildren, Drake Williamson, Alley Rogers, Hunter Rogers, and Rylan Rogers; and lifelong friend, Rebecca Adcock.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m., June 11, 2021, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Larry Plemons will officiate. The family will receive friends 11 a.m-1 p.m., June 11, at the funeral home.
