Orville Hodge, 86, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 25, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 27, 1938, to Jess and Verlie Barker Hodge.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Phid Hodge, Ewion Hodge, Clarence Hodge, Vernon Hodge, James Hodge, and his sisters, Louvennie Walker, Nell Sparkman, Susan Kirkpatrick and Virginia Farley.
He was a loyal employee of Malloy Controls, retiring on April 26, 2002. After retirement, he enjoyed staying busy at home and was devoted to his beloved family. Orville was a wonderful loving father and husband, providing for those he loved greatly. Orville took great pride in his faith as a Christian and was ready to go home to meet the Lord. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed by his family.
He left behind his loving wife of 59 years and 11 months, Martha Hodge; children, Christopher Glen Hodge (wife Diana), Rebecca Michelle Wilkey (husband Keith); and brother, Clyde Hodge (wife Barbara).
Funeral service was 11 a.m., Oct. 30, 2024, at Sparta First Baptist Church, with burial in the Saylors Cemetery. Bro Brad officiated.
