Paul Carroll Haynes, 97, of Cookeville, but longtime resident of Sparta, passed away July 9, 2025, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville.
Paul was born April 11, 1928, in Blountsville, Alabama. He was the son of Lawrence Haynes and Florra Lindsey Haynes.
Paul married Reba Nell Copeland, on June 4, 1949, and the pair were inseparable until her passing.
Paul worked at General Motors for 33 years and retired as Superintendent of Manufacturing. After his retirement at General Motors, Paul had another career for 24 years as a bus driver for the White County School System. Paul was a proud veteran and actively served in the United States Army, in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Paul was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Paul Haynes, and siblings, James Haynes, Juliet Haynes, and Madge Haynes.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Christene Bulakowski-Haynes; granddaughter, Tiffany Renee Haynes; grandson, Zachary Paul Haynes; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul’s kindness will be deeply missed but always remembered.
Funeral service was 2 p.m., July 12, 2025, at Copeland Chapel Church, with burial in Copeland Chapel Church Cemetery. Minister Dan Horton officiated.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
