Phyllis Ann Gullett, 75, of Cookeville, passed away peacefully, on Oct. 4, 2023, at her home.
Phyllis was born Sept. 19, 1948, in Sparta, and was the daughter of Everett Patterson Murdock and Barbara Ann Wyrick Murdock, both of whom preceded her in death.
Phyllis “Da Mama” was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and Oma. She worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 49 years as an examiner and supervisor. She was the caretaker of her family, and that passed down to her daughter, Buffy. Phyllis was loved by everyone that knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Buffy Hutton; two grandchildren, Draven Hutton, Jesse Walters; and five siblings, Judith Green, Sharon Hale, Robert Murdock, Ray Murdock, and Deonna Miller.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Rock Devin Lies.
Phyllis chose cremation. The family followed her wishes, and a celebration of her life may be held at a later date.
