Rachel Holman Mabe, 83, of Cookeville, formerly of Sparta, passed away Aug. 24, 2025, at her residence.
Rachel was born May 6, 1942, in Sparta, to Jimmy and Monerva Jane Bryant Holman.
She retired from Mallory, with more than 30 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement years being Granny to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Wilford Mabe, who died June 2, 1997; sister, Mattie Nation; and brothers, R.T., James, Ray, and Charles Holman.
Survivors include her son, Hollis Floyd Mabe and fiancee' Amy
Vinson, of Sparta; daughter, Rachel Loretta Terry, of Cookeville; grandchildren, Kristy Lockhead, Tyler Mabe, Gavin Terry, Devin Terry; one great-grandchild, Keegan Lockhead; sister, Wilma Bennett; brother, Clay Holman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Aug. 27, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Taylor's Providence Cemetery. Philip Luna will officiate. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Aug. 27, at the funeral home.
