Rema McBride Cloyd, 75, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 8, 2025, at Saint Thomas West Hospital.
Rema was born March 29, 1950, in Knoxville, to George Adcox II and Pauline Hamilton Adcox.
She was longtime member of DeRossett Church of Christ. Rema was a proud 1968 graduate of Cumberland County High School. Soon after graduation, she moved to Sparta to be one of the first employees of Mallory Controls where she enjoyed a long career as one of the first in the door and one of the last as it closed. She enjoyed her retirement years working at White County Middle School. She loved spending time with family and friends and going to estate sales with her husband. Rema always looked forward to her weekly outings with her best friend, Cindy Davis, and other special friends.
Surviving family members include her husband, Donald Cloyd; daughter, Michelle McBride (Shane) Collins; brothers, James Adcox, Dewey Adcox; sister, Jeanette Adcox; extended family members, Jill (Jason) Cloyd and their children and grandchildren, Tracy (Matt) Bray and their children and grandchildren; the McBride family; special nieces, nephews, cousins; and best friends, Cindy Davis and Carol Humphrey.
In honor of Rema’s wishes, Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with her cremation, and no public services are planned.
