It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Rick Salomon, who died Aug. 15, 2024, after suffering a heart attack while working outside on his farm, in Sparta.

Rick was born Aug. 9, 1953, in New York, to William and Joan Salomon.

He attended Kenyon College where he played football and lacrosse. He married the love of his life, Janet, in 1975, and was married almost 49 years. Together, they welcomed five sons.

Rick devoted his career to faithful and selfless service of our country from 1984 to 2010 in the FBI. An expert in counter-terrorism finance, he was also a graduate of the National War College, in Washington, D.C. He was a true patriot, who will be remembered for his love of God, family, and the principles of American Liberty.

Rick enjoyed sharing his love of sports with his sons and grandchildren. Rick was always the first to crack a joke and make everyone around him smile. His vast intellect and passion for life, wisdom, and selfless love will be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Nowicki Salomon; brother, Bob (Evelyn); sister, Barbara (Lou); sons, Dustin, Nicolas, Benjamin, Michael (Kelly), Peter (Hannah); and grandchildren, Dominic, Victor, Louis, Elsie, and Juliana.
