Robert Eston Hodge, 72, of Sparta, passed away on Aug. 9, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 28, 1952, in Sparta, to William Hodge Jr. and Anna Ruth Cunningham Hodge.
Robert loved the Lord. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family. He wasn’t a talkative person, and you never heard him raise his voice. He loved all animals and especially his little dog, Chi Chi.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Judy Hodge; his parents; and grandparents, William and Theory Hodge, James M. and Vernia L. Cunningham.
He is survived by his sister, Joan Brock; stepson, Scott Bishop; step-granddaughter, Fiffany (Jordan) Barr; five step-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.
Graveside service was 2 p.m., Aug. 12, 2025, New Bon Air Cemetery.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
