The Rock House State Historic Site is owned by the State of Tennessee and managed under an agreement with the Tennessee Historical Commission. The site is operated as a museum by the Rock House Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. The Rock House is currently closed until further notice due to renovations and much needed repairs.
The Tennessee Historical Commission received grant money for repairs and renovations to the Rock House which include repairing the foundation, installing a drainage system around the building, a new ADA compliant restroom, re-shingling the roof, and redesigning the front of the building in addition to other changes.
The Rock House Chapter DAR will take possession of the site 30 days after completion of the project.
