Ronnie “Ron” Leon Bennett, 72, of Sparta, passed away June 14, 2020, at Saint Thomas West Hospital, in Nashville.
Mr. Bennett was born Jan. 8, 1948, in Rickman, the son of Cecil Bennett and Pauline Thompson Bennett.
He served as director of White County Emergency Medical Service for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Shane Maples.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Bennett, of Sparta; sons, Chip Bennett (Renee,) of Cookeville, Jon Bennett (Kris), of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Amanda Maples (wife of Shane Maples); grandsons,
Dustin Bennett, Austin Bennett, Kai Bennett, Kase Bennett, Stephen Maples, Daniel Maples; granddaughters, Jordan Bennett, Sailor Bennett, Taylor Claborn, Lexi Maples; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ivy, Decklan, Alex, Felicity, and Gwen
A memorial service was 2 p.m., June 17, 2020, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
