R.V. Henry, 86, of Sparta, passed away Aug. 23, 2024.

R.V. was a Godly man. He loved his church and church family. He was a truck driver over 40 years. He enjoyed traveling with Brenda and would go any chance he had. He spent time enjoying the outdoors. He loved working in his garden and playing on his tractor. He would always help anyone in the community. Those who knew him would say he was a kind man. He loved his family and, more than anything else, his beloved wife Brenda. He would claim any baby as his own and had a place in his heart for everyone’s babies.

In addition to his parents, R.V. was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Brady Henry; his brother-in-law, Gerald Usrey; his brothers, Troy Henry, Roy Henry, Carl Henry, Horace Henry; his sisters-in-law, Louise Henry, Phyllis Henry; and his son-in-law, Larry Clendenon.

Surviving family includes four sons, Steve (Carla) Henry, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, Daryl Wallace, of Sparta, Jason (Kaye) Henry, of Sparta, Derrick (Kathleen), of Cookeville; three daughters, Teresa (David) McBride, of McMinnville, Rhonda (Sean) Livesay, of Celina, Pam (Steve) Roberts, of Doyle; two sisters, Ruth Phifer, of Sparta, Marietta Usrey, of Sparta; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was 11 a.m., Aug. 28, 2024, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Young Cemetery. Dewey Young and Mike Kerr officiated.

Pallbearers were Tim Henry, Blake Henry, Travis Henry, Christopher Clendenon, D.J. Clendenon, and Cole Henry.

Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Roberts and Steve Roberts.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
