Mrs. Sharon Louise Burris Taylor, age 60, of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 10, 2026, at her residence.
Sharon was born August 24, 1965, in Sparta, Tennessee. She was a former garment factory worker but most notably a homemaker. She enjoyed being by the side of her late husband, J.T. Taylor, who died November 24, 2025. They enjoyed Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and were regular fixtures at Rod Run in the spring. Sharon also cherished being Granny Sharon to her adoring grandchildren.
In addition to J.T., Sharon is also preceded in death by her mother, Dimple Dean Burgess Burris, and stepson James Edward Taylor.
Surviving family members include her son Jason McCurry and wife Sierra
Grandchildren: Nora Dean McCurry, Eren McCurry, Aiden Moles, Olivia Jennings, Brody McCurry, Colton Taylor, Kaitlynn Taylor, and Dallas Harris
Stepson: Chet Taylor

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Sharon’s cremation, and a memorial service will be held at 12 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026, in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 10 am Friday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. David Bratcher will officiate.
