Slatton makes drug arrest

On March 18, 2024, Sgt. Dallas Slatton, of White County Sheriff's Office, observed a vehicle weaving back and forth across the white lines.

Sgt. Slatton initiated a routine traffic stop which led to Slatton having K-9 Officer Vance, with Sparta Police Department, respond to the scene with his K-9 partner, Delta. K-9 Officer Vance deployed his K-9 partner, Delta, which indicated a positive alert on the vehicle.  After searching the vehicle, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and a firearm were reportedly discovered. Suspect #1 was charged with manufacturing, delivery, sale of meth, drug paraphernalia, simple poss. of schedule VI, and driving while in possession of more than 5 grams of meth. Suspect # 2 was charged with manufacturing, delivery and sale of meth, felon in poss. of a handgun and poss. of a handgun while in commission of a felony.

Both suspects were transported and booked into the White County Jail, and a court date was set for March 19, 2024.
