Sparta Housing Authority recently held an open house for the newly remodeled houses on Harris Street, in Sparta. Funding for the remodels was provided by government grants that were designated for housing senior citizens. Jim Payne, Sparta Housing Authority director, addressed the crowd that was present at the open house and said the remodels were originally scheduled around the time COVID-19 hit the community, which caused delays in the process. Several of the individuals who are the recipients of the newly remodeled homes had been living elsewhere until the work was completed. They were extremely excited and grateful for their updated dwellings and anxious to move back into their beautifully designed homes.
