Terry Wilburn Mills, 68, of Sparta, passed away peacefully, on Sept. 19, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, while surrounded by his family.
Terry was born Sept. 7, 1956, in Sparta, to Joe H. Mills and Julia Ova Copeland.
Throughout his life, he was an auctioneer, a great musician, and most recently worked at PMI as a material handler.
He had a lifelong passion for horses and playing guitars. With some of his high school friends, Terry was part of the well-known band “The Blades of Bluegrass.” As a testament to his skill, Terry has also performed at the Grand Ole Opry!
Terry is survived by his brother, Dennis J. Mills, of Sparta; sister-in-law, Deborah K. Mills, of Sparta; niece, Tammy Mills Radford; great-niece, Brittany Radford; great-great-nephew, Dysen Radford; and great-great-niece, Chloe Radford.
He worshipped those children!
Memorial donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Mr. Mills wanted a private family service and wished to be cremated.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
