Mr. Frank Dillard Mabe, better known as Dillard, age 81, of Doyle, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at his residence.
Dillard was born in the Cedar Creek Community of White County to the late Haskell and Ozella Luna Mabe. He retired from Thomas Industries after 40 years of service. Dillard enjoyed playing cards and exploring White County, but most of all he loved being Papa to his grandchildren and being with his family.
In addition to his parents, Dillard is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Leonard and Wilford Mabe, and two daughters, June Myers and Mica Cowen.
Surviving family members include his wife of 44 years, Carolyn F. Mabe.
Two daughters: Dawnetta (Rick) Waters and Dana Mabe.
Son: Nolan Myers.
Grandchildren: Deke (Ashley) Waters, Ashley Morrill, Justin Cowen, Jacob Cowen, Connor Myers and Brandy Myers.
A host of great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11 am on Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Ken Breeland will officiate.
