Verdena Hutson, 97, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 29, 2024, at her son’s home, in Erie, Michigan.
She was born Oct. 20, 1927, in Sparta, to Charles Arthur and Cora Pearl Holland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Clifford Hutson; sons, John Hutson, Ron Hutson; granddaughter, Denise Koester; brothers, Thurman Holland, Elmus Holland, Leslie Holland; and sisters, Clarkie Davis, Ruby Hardy.
Verdena is survived by her son, Tom (Becky) Hutson; daughter, Gloria Hankins; brother, Gene Holland; grandchildren, Cheryl (Chris) Sanders, Tommy Hutson, Jessica (Jim) Burgard, Jeffrey Hutson, Jonathon (Barb) Hutson, Dianna Strickland, Rob (Alysia) McNeely, Deb McNeely, Chris Hutson, Jennifer Hutson; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Nov. 5, 2024, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Clint Walker officiated.
