Vernell “Nell” EmmaJean Nash, 86, of Sparta, passed away Dec. 22, 2024, at home, with her daughter by her side.
Nell was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Robert Lee Simmons and Virgie Simmons.
Nell enjoyed quilting and being outside in her garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Nash; father of her children, Jesse Clay Nash; and brothers Jesse Clay Simmons and Virgle Lee Simmons.
Surviving family includes her daughters, Kathy (Lester) Anderson, of Sparta, Karen (Joe) Scaff, of Callahan, Florida; son, Jesse Nash Jr. (Karen), of Sparta; grandchildren, Joey (Tonya) Scaff, of Callahan, Florida, Kari Kidd, of California, Chris Nash, of Sparta, Jessica Nash Dietz, of Sparta; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was 2 p.m., Dec. 27, 2024, at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
