Versa Mae Phillips Howard Branconnier, 93, of Walling, passed away July 20, 2025, at Signature of Putnam, in Cookeville.
Versa was born Sept. 16, 1931, in Sparta, to Homer and Ollie Smith Phillips.
She proudly served as an LPN until the age of 86. Her travels took her all over the United States, including multiple trips to Hawaii and Canada. She enjoyed dancing to classic country music and horseback riding.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Horton Howard; granddaughter, Veronica Howard; sisters, Thelma Durham, Christine Hatcher; and brothers, Artee, Richard, Paul Gene, and Jim Phillips.
Survivors include her son, Duane (Lavanda) Howard; daughter, Angela (Ron) Ruback; grandchildren, Dreama Howard, Troy Howard, Thomas Nash, Olivia Nash, Blayne Sems, Brandon Ruback, Tyler Ruback; great-grandchildren, Hannah (Chris) Morton, Channing Nash, Blaize Darity-Reese; two sisters, Mary Ann Dodson, Irene Parker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services was 11 a.m., July 24, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home, with funeral honors by the Nurses Honor Guard. Burial followed in Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville community. Pastor Steve Gerhart officiated.
Troy Howard, Chris Morton, Ron Ruback, Thomas Nash, Jamey Spakes, and Paul Elrod served as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
