Harold Wayne Jackson, better known as Wayne, 71, of the Ravenscroft community, passed away March 19, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born Feb. 11, 1954, in Fortville, Indiana.
Wayne worked a variety of jobs, including the Indiana Highway Department, logging, and various factory jobs, including LTD. He was a HAM radio operator and communicated with people from coast to coast and as far as Australia. He was a coon hunter and a dog trainer.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Jackson and Mary True Marshall; wife, Treva Faye Simmons Jackson, who died July 27, 2023; and sister, Karen Reichenbach.
Survivors include his daughter, Valerie Brady and husband Stacy; son, William Jackson; grandchildren, Zoey Simmons and husband Kenneth, Jordyn Brady, Dustin "Bubba" Jackson, Ally Simmons, Jocelyn Simmons, Kelysie Simmons; three great-grandchildren, Rayne, Connor, Kainon and Vandor Simmons; sister-in-law, Billie Paige; and brother-in-law, John Simmons.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., March 24, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Caleb Bryant and Robert Wright officiated.
Dustin Jackson, Roger Young, Matthew Cunningham, Johnny Young, Kenneth Simmons, Chris Dunn, and Zachary Swigeart served as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
