WCHS Academic Spotlight

Colton Gentry has plans for his future - plans that will carry him far from home after he joins the ranks of White County High School alum - plans that will give him a chance to join other ranks. Gentry plans to serve his country as a member of the United States Army.

Gentry, who is a member of the WCHS Warrior football team, said he would describe himself as reliable and hardworking but also kind. He also said that having a summer job, which included mowing lawns, has helped him truly appreciate the amount of work it takes to be successful as well as to appreciate and understand the value of both money and time.

“Colton Gentry definitely deserves to be recognized as an outstanding student at White County High School.  He has been my student through two semesters of Spanish,” DeLeesa Price, a member of the WCHS faculty said, as she described Gentry as someone she has truly enjoyed having in class. “His great sense of humor, hard work, and dedication define his character.”

No doubt, the character traits Gentry has worked hard to develop during his time as a Warrior will serve him well during his time as a solider. But the person Gentry has worked to become is going to be as much of an asset to the ranks of the United States Army as it has been to the ranks of the White County Warriors.
