William Oscar Engel, 78, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 9, 2025, at Life Care of Sparta.
Bill was born June 2, 1946, in Gassaway, West Virginia, to Vaughn Engel and Freda Mae Greenleaf Engel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Vogel.
Survivors include his daughters, Shirley (James) Dilts, Donna (Daniel) McSweeney; son, Joseph (Theresa) Engel; six grandchildren, Christopher Loscomb, Nicholas Loscomb, Victoria Dilts, Olivia Dilts,
Aidan McSweeney, Lily McSweeney; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Engel; and beloved friends, Allen and Donna England, Kenneth “Kenny” Haston, and Carolyn Mick.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Feb. 14, 2025, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Robin Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m., Feb. 14, at the funeral home. Celebration of Life will follow, with the place to be determined.
