Mrs. Willie G. Brown, 89, a resident of Browntown Road, in Sparta, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, while surrounded by family, on April 3, 2025, and reunite with her husband whom she missed for 17 years.
Mrs. Brown was born July 3, 1935, in Sparta.
She was a faithful follower of Christ and a Precious Prayer Warrior. She was a valued and founding member of the Freedom Baptist Church, in Walling. Known by friends and family as the BEST cook, her fried chicken, apple layer cake, turnip greens, green beans, biscuits and gravy, and chicken and dumplings were second to none.
Her valuable lessons she taught her family as to what it truly means to know Christ and his Plan of Salvation was always a passionate topic for her. Her daily prayer included each of her children and their families, friends, and her church family. And, yes, she called them each out by name! She always prayed for Christ’s love and protection, for Jesus to supply their daily needs, provide strength and comfort, not to let them be in any accidents, and watch over them daily.
She will be greatly missed down here on this earth, by many. But with the Love of Jesus and faith in him, we each will see her again in his Home of Glory.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, S.D. Brown; her parents, John and Betty Roberts; two children, Deborah Deck, Rodger Brown; and two grandchildren, Daryel Brown and Angelia Secord.
She is survived by her three daughters, Janis (late Bob) Prater, Rhonda (late Stan) Hawkins, Vicky (Burford) Cole; two sons, Jim (Judy) Brown, Stephen (Misty) Brown; two sisters, Bonnie Murphy, Lois Eller; one brother, Alton Roberts; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren, all of Sparta.
