Bella Winningham has shown determination throughout her years of playing basketball for White County. She has been embedded in basketball since an early age and has shown great determination for success.
In her eighth-grade year, Winningham played in the 2022 TMSAA State Class AAA Girls’ Basketball State Tournament Championship. Entering her freshman year, she automatically made varsity and had appearances in all the games.
Winningham became a starter her sophomore year and assisted them to TSSAA Sub-State.
In her first three years, Winningham has been awarded District 7AAA Honorable Mention, District 7AAA Most Improved Player, and District 7AAA All District 2nd Team.
Winningham reached 1,000 points and joined many legends, such as Lindsay Floyd, at White County High School in the 1,000 Point Club in her junior season. Also in her junior season, Winningham helped her team make it to the TSSAA State Tournament and played in the “Glass House.”
In her final year at White County High School, she is averaging 12.3 points per game and already has accumulated 233 total points. Winningham is currently ranked #21 in 3pt Made State Leaders in Tennessee. She also has 74 total rebounds, averaging 3.9 per game. On defense, she is averaging 2.2 steals per game with a total of 41.
Winningham’s highest scoring game of the season so far was 29 in the Frank’s Christmas Shootout against the Mt. Juliet Lady Bears. She was also awarded Player of The Game by Tri-Star Sports. She showed her determination and drive for the game previous to the Mt. Juliet game.
Head coach Michael Dodgens said, “She spent a lot of time in the gym. I think she got up about 500 shots after practice, and that is what it takes to get your rhythm back.”
She has made her presence known in every game for the Warriorettes since she was young, whether that is with her shots or rebounds.
Winningham reflected on her years of playing in White County. “What I love about playing for White County is how involved and supportive the community is for the basketball teams,” she said. “I will definitely miss playing here with my teammates. They are all my best friends.”
On Nov. 5 2025, Winningham accomplished her goal of playing basketball at the next level. Winningham signed to play for the Johnson University Lady Royals women’s basketball team. There she plans on majoring in Business Management.
She talked about who helped her along the way.
“Someone who has got me to where I am today is my dad,” she said. “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for him.”
Throughout her years as a Warriorette, Winningham has shown her determination for basketball, as a whole, with the many accomplishments she has made throughout the years. Winningham continues to show her drive for success on the court so far in her final season as a Warriorette, and she will continue to convey that drive as a Lady Royal after high school.
