Burger King expected to be completed by mid-September

The new Burger King building, at 554 West Bockman Way, the site of the former Burger King, should be completed by mid-September, according to an on-site worker.  He also said the structure's height is not due to the inclusion of a playground area, as some county residents have speculated. There will be no playground. The height is due to a six-foot wall on the perimeter of the building above the roof for safety and to screen rooftop mechanical equipment.

The Carrols Corporation, of Syracuse, New York, owns the local Burger King. Carrols owns over 1,000 restaurants under the Burger King and Popeyes brands. The Carrols Corporation has not officially announced when the local Burger King will reopen.
