Elizabeth "Betty" Goff, 88, of Sparta, passed away June 12, 2024, at Life Care Center of Sparta.

Betty (AKA "Nanny") was born Jan. 13, 1936, to Carl Alverson and Nora Hall Alverson.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Douglas "Dot" Goff, and two brothers, Joe Alverson and Carl Alverson Jr.

Nanny was an incredible woman who loved her family. She was a homemaker and had worked at Walmart in the shoe department for a short period of time. She was a Christian, member of Taft Church of Christ, and one who loved the Lord.  She enjoyed visiting the sick and the folk in the nursing home. She would help anyone she could. She kept extra money in her car if she came across anyone along the way that was in need. She loved Elvis, Santa, and "The Possum." She took care of her mother and father in their last days. She really liked her automobiles, especially Pontiac and Buick. She had many health-related problems and just kept coming back after each one. She will absolutely be missed immensely.

Survivors include her four children, Connie (Tony) Dedominicis, Douglas (Vickie) Goff, Benny (Kathy) Goff, Leslie "Guy" (Becky) Goff; grandchildren, Mary "Libby" (Brian) West, Sarah (Matt) England, Kyle (Amanda) Goff, Raquel Goff (Chris) Marinucci; three great-grandchildren, Alexis England, Loralei Goff, Royce Marinucci; two siblings, Earl (Doris) Alverson, Earlene (James) Lafever; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., June 15, 2024, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., June 15, at the funeral home. Bro. Jerry Nash will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wilson, Cody Wilson, Jeffrey Lafever, Travis Alverson, Kyle Goff, Matt England, and Bryan West.

A special thank you to all her caregivers at Life Care Center of Sparta. She loved them all, and they all really loved her.  She loved her roommate, Trudy, and thank you to the caring staff of Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
