Fall Creek Falls State Park hosts kayaking class

Posted

Tennessee State Parks and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) joined the Tennessee chapter of the American Canoe Association (ACA) to offer low-cost kayaking instruction on Saturday, May 20, as part of National Safe Boating Week, which begins the same day.

According to Samantha Satterfield, state director of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Canoe Association, attendees were unable to hit the water because of the weather, but they still had a great time of instruction. The event kicked off National Safe Boating Week.

Fall Creek Falls State Park was one of many parks that participated in this event.

The event builds on collaboration like the same program conducted a year ago when more than 170 people participated. That partnership resulted in a Four-Star Award for an innovative program from the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association.
