John Wesley Myers, 72, of Red Boiling Springs, TN, passed away on September 5, 2026, at 7:13 PM at the Sumner County Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN.
Wesley was born in Gallatin, TN, on February 15, 1954. He was the son of Charles Myers and Ruby Edna Sadler Myers and the brother of Stacy Myers. He attended school and graduated from White County High School, then received his BS and MS degrees from Tennessee Tech University. Wesley spent his entire career with the University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service, retiring as the UT County Agent for Sumner County, Tennessee. During his UT Extension service, Wesley served as a “Master Gardener,” providing advice and counsel to numerous residents of Sumner County.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruby Myers. He is survived by his brother Stacy Myers and his wife Patricia of Land O Lakes, FL, two nieces, Kristin Dufrain of Lutz, FL, and Amy Myers-Delany of Jacksonville, VT.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery on October 23 at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in the name of Wesley Myers be sent to West Sparta Church of Christ, designating Short Mountain Youth Camp as the recipient.
