JROTC participates in 9/11 memorial event

Posted

White County JROTC took time out of their morning, on Sept. 11, 2025 to participate in Tennessee Technological University’s annual stair climb in remembrance of that dreaded day 24 years ago. 9/11 was a tragedy that was felt across the entire United States. Many victims, to include first responders, lost their lives when the World Trade Center was attacked. TTU pays tribute to those individuals each year at their annual stair climb.

Fortunately for White County High School JROTC, cadets were encouraged to participate in the annual event. This was a great opportunity for the students to pay tribute and develop a sense of Patriotism and Honor in our great Country. We had 4 students that participated in the climb. Cadet Hawco, Dowdy, Margeson, and Cadet Daniels. They all participated with Cadet Geer, a TTU cadet and former WCHS Battalion Commander. When asked about the reason for his participation John Hawco stated, “This event was for a great cause. It allowed us to remember all those that perished and continue to remember the tragedy that took place.
