On October 28, 2026, the White County High School Warrior Battalion JROTC program held its second Cadet of the Month competition, recognizing the top-performing cadets from each company who exemplify leadership, discipline, and dedication.
This monthly event gives cadets the opportunity to test their knowledge, military bearing, and professionalism before a panel of instructors and senior cadet leaders. Each company selects one standout cadet to represent them, making this one of the program’s most competitive honors.
For October, Cadet Second Lieutenant Isabella Smith, a second-year cadet, and Cadet Private First-Class Willie Crider, a first-year cadet, earned top honors for their outstanding performance and commitment to excellence. Isabella is in her second year of JROTC and has excelled ahead of her peers. She is a member of the Drill Team and Raider Team and is currently a platoon leader of Charlie Company. PFC Willie Crider has been a great asset to the JROTC program. His drive and responsibility have allowed him to be selected as a squad leader for Bravo Company. Willie is also a member of the JROTC Rifle Team.
During the event, cadets were evaluated on uniform inspection, drill and ceremony, leadership knowledge, and understanding of Army values. Competitions like these not only recognize achievement but also help cadets build character, teamwork, and confidence—skills that extend beyond the JROTC program.
“The Cadet of the Month competition challenges the students to push themselves and represent their companies with pride,” said Senior Army Instructor 1SG Romero. “It’s a great way to highlight their hard work and dedication.”
The winners will advance to compete for Cadet of the Year at the end of the school year, where they’ll face off against other monthly winners for an even higher distinction.
The White County High School JROTC continues to uphold its mission of developing leadership, citizenship, and self-discipline in its cadets while serving the community and representing White County with honor.
