The White County High School girls’ soccer team spent the fall reinventing the image of Warriorette soccer. From high scoring matches to winning records to defeating long term rivals to advancing to the regional tournament for the first time in program history, the Warriorettes were gaining attention around the district.
This week, they got another nod toward their historic season. Two Warriorettes were named to the All-Region Tournament Team. Seniors Katie Blakeman, defense, and Amia Heath, striker, both of whom were team captains this season, were recognized at the end of the regional tournament. Despite White County being eliminated in the first round, the Warriorettes did enough to get the attention of coaches across the region.
“I’m so proud of these girls,” White County head coach Madison Mason said. “They have worked so hard this year, for them to get this award – the first players from White County soccer to ever receive regional recognition – what an amazing way for them to cap off their Warriorette careers.”
