Luella Barlow Denton, 75, went to rest in her Heavenly home, on Oct. 15, 2023.
She was born Dec. 14, 1947, in Hilham, to Thomas Clinton Barlow and Margaret Vera Ellis Barlow.
Luella was one of 17 children. She loved the Lord, her family, and flowers. Luella never met a stranger and was loved by everyone she met. She worked at Red Kap, the old shirt factory, Causal Apparel, and retired from Federal Mogul.
In addition to her parents, Luella was preceded in death by her sisters, Jewel Edith Nation, Daisy Mae Reeves, Rose Mary Fields; sisters-in-law, Mary Barlow, Lillie Belle Barlow; brothers-in-law, Carl Hunter, Daniel Vanmeter; and nephews Ray “Pee-Wee” Barlow Jr., Kevin Barlow, Johnny Taylor, Billy Lee Knowles, and Billy Lee Knowles Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Melvin Denton; daughter, Margaret Lisa Mae Haycox; son, Larry David Luna; stepchildren, Lewis Melvin Denton Jr., David Jason (Jordanna) Denton, Shelia Denton Wood; grandchildren, William Richard Denton (Harley Paige), Deviana Rennea Luna; great-grandchildren, Haiti Shay Denton, Athena Mae Denton, Lilith J. Denton, KlioFaye and Khaleice Chabarria, Jaylea Walters, Caden Henry; brothers, Ray (Thelma Smith) Barlow, Bill Barlow, Aaron (Beverly) Barlow, Donnie (Dianne Dugger) Barlow, Robert Barlow; and sisters, Faye (David) Luna, Verna (Charlie) Scott, Sue Hunter, Sharon (Bill) Vanatta, Debra Marfuta, Gail Vanmeter, Reita Simmons, and Betty Randolph.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Oct. 19, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Ronnie Taylor will officiate. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
