Mike Johnson, 76, of Sparta, passed away, July 15, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Mike was born Jan. 26, 1946, in Sparta, to Charles Brock Johnson Sr. and Minnie Mae Whitaker Johnson.
His life-long career choice was that of an educator and administrator. He loved traveling the BBQ circuit and Tennessee football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ellon Davis, Myrtie Lillian Harbin, Charlie Mae Pepples, Jean Ince; brothers, brothers, Samuel Houston Johnson, Charles Brock Johnson Jr.; and niece, Nancy Biles.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ella Ree Crooks Johnson; son, Barry (Francene) Johnson; granddaughter, Brooke Johnson, of Gladeville; nieces, Linda Woodis, Sherry Smith, Ann Wright, Christy Ridings; nephews, Bill Pepples, Richard Pepples, Chuck Harbin, Sam
Crooks, Danny Crooks, and David Ridings; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., July 18, 2022, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
