Several important projects are moving forward in Sparta, and I want to share a brief update.

Today, we are putting the bridge replacement across the river at Carter Street Park out for bids. This is an important step toward restoring this connection for our residents and park visitors.

We are also receiving our new transformer to upgrade our electrical substation. This investment will strengthen our ability to serve the industrial park and hospital areas, support future growth, and help improve Sparta’s electrical system ratings.

At our new splash pad and playground area, the playground portion is complete! The splash pad remains unfinished, and exterior work—including sidewalks, paving, and parking—still needs to be completed. Once that work is further along, we will look at setting an opening date.
