Mr. Payton Lynn Henry, age 22, of the Big Springs community, passed away Wednesday morning, October 21, 2026, as a result of an automobile accident.
Payton was born Christmas Day, December 25, 2003 in Sparta, Tennessee to Michael Lynn Henry and the late Leigh Ann Holmes Henry who died August 7, 2014. Payton worked as a fabricator at Florida Marine Tanks in Cookeville. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
In addition, Payton was a motorcycle enthusiast and a Pokémon collector. He will be forever remembered for his outgoing personality, but more importantly, for the devotion and love he had for his family.
In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by his uncle Jared Holmes.
Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his father, Michael Henry, and fiancé Tiffany Timmons.
Brother: Drew Henry.
Sisters: Brooklynn Timmons and Brailee Timmons.
Maternal grandmother: Geneva Holmes.
Paternal grandfather: Andy Henry and wife Tina.
Uncle: Steven Henry and wife Amanda.
Aunt: Traci Holmes.
Cousins: Lili, Grayson, Brice, Addi and Rebel.
A host of close friends and extended family also survive.
Funeral services were be conducted at 11 am Saturday, October 24, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Big Springs Cemetery. The family received friends from 4-8 pm Friday at Hunter Funeral Home.
Wes Gooch, Seth Sparkman, Drew Henry, Stoney Maynard, Joe Henry, and Tony Scott will serve as pallbearers.
