White County High School’s JROTC program proudly recognized one of its newest cadets for outstanding performance and leadership potential. Cadet Private First Class (PFC) Agustus Sackett, a first-year cadet, was named Cadet of the Month for September after impressing instructors and board members with his discipline, knowledge, and commitment to excellence.

Competing against more experienced cadets, PFC Sackett demonstrated remarkable poise and preparation during the Cadet of the Month board—a rigorous evaluation process that tests cadets on their military bearing, uniform inspection, leadership traits, chain of command, and general knowledge of JROTC principles.

“Agustus stood out not just because he’s a first-year cadet but because he carries himself with maturity, focus, and an eagerness to learn,” said Senior Army Instructor 1SG (Ret.) Romero. “He’s exactly the kind of cadet we hope to see grow in this program.”

Winning Cadet of the Month as a first-year cadet is a rare accomplishment, and it reflects Sackett’s determination and initiative. He reportedly spent several weeks studying Army regulations, memorizing cadet knowledge, and perfecting his uniform to be ready for the board.

“I wanted to represent my company well and show that even new cadets can step up,” said Sackett. “I’ve learned a lot already in JROTC, and I’m thankful for the support from my peers and instructors.”

Sackett’s achievement serves as an inspiration to other first-year cadets and is a testament to the high standards upheld within the White County High School JROTC program. As he continues his journey through the program, instructors believe he has strong potential for future leadership roles.

With this early achievement under his belt, Cadet PFC Agustus Sackett is clearly a name to watch in the coming semesters.
