From Jason Sparks, chief-Doyle Volunteer Fire Department: South Group departments responded mutual aid to Van Buren County this afternoon (Aug. 7), with reports of people trapped in Fall Creek Falls as a result of storm damage. We spent five hours assisting with storm debris in order to access areas where park visitors were blocked in. It is an absolute miracle that no one was hurt. South Group Departments responding were Doyle Volunteer Fire Department, Central View Volunteer Fire Department - Walling/Quebeck, Hickory Valley Fire Department, and Mt. Gilead Volunteer Fire Department.
